Sophrology, what is it?
Sophrology was designed by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo in the 1960s and is inspired by Western techniques (relaxation, clinical hypnosis, phenomenology, etc.) and Eastern ones (yoga, meditation, etc.).
The word Sophrology comes from the Greek:
-
Sos means quiet, serene, harmony
-
Phren means consciousness, brain, mind
-
Logos means study, speech, science
Positive pedagogical method, verbal and non-tactile (the exercises will be active and dynamic, in full consciousness) it allows to develop our personal capabilities, skills and performances, and to improve our daily life.
The goal is to find and thus perfect the balance between our body, our emotions, our thoughts and our behaviors.
It is a structured and personalized psycho-body method, based on exercises:
- of BREATHING
- DYNAMIC RELAXATION of the body
- and on MENTAL VISUALIZATIONS
The sophrologist teaches you techniques that you can use independently, on a daily basis and very easily.
More than a technique, it is an approach: a tool to feel good, physically and mentally despite everything that can happen to us!
